Oxford Blue Events · 2026
Thank you for taking the time to complete our brand questionnaire, Brooke — your answers gave us a genuinely clear picture of where Oxford Blue Events is headed, and honestly, it's an exciting brief.
You're building something the Central West doesn't currently have: a true one-stop shop for events — management, hire and venue support under one roof — delivered with style, warmth and a price point people can actually reach. That combination of "elevated but attainable" is rare, and it's exactly the kind of positioning a strong brand identity can own.
You've already taken the leap and launched. This proposal is about giving the brand the foundations to match — it outlines what we heard, the strategic and creative direction we recommend, the scope of work, timelines and investment. Everything here is a starting point for conversation; we'd love to refine it together.

WHAT WE HEARD
-

The Business
Oxford Blue Events is a newly launched, full-service event management, planning and production company — a one-stop shop covering event management, equipment hire and venue management. You serve anyone hosting an event, plus venue owners who need support running theirs. Approachable and affordable, without ever compromising on style or quality.
-

Your Ideal Client
Vision-led, trusting and collaborative. They're time-poor but still want to host an unforgettable, high-quality event — and they value the ease and certainty of knowing everything is accounted for. They care about their time, the guest experience and managing their budget.
-

What Sets you Apart
High quality at genuinely affordable prices
Every area of an event covered under one roof — no competitor in the region offers all services
All event types, not just weddings
A new, fresh approach for the Central West
-

The Competitive Landscape
Whitetop Events, Bespoke Country Weddings, White Place Events, Simply Seated and WedShed each do parts of this well — good product range, reach and approachability — but none offers the full service under one brand, and customer service is a consistent weak point across the category. That’s your opening.
Where you want to be in 2-3 years
Operating beyond the Central West, expanding services, and becoming the go-to household name in events — with a brand identity strong and flexible enough to carry new offerings without being rebuilt.
The Opportunity
A few strategic observations shaped our recommendation:
1. Own "elevated, but obtainable" Your brief holds a deliberate tension: sophisticated, elegant and elevated — yet never exclusive, unattainable or "cheap." Most brands in this space pick one side. The identity we build needs to hold both: rich, moody and refined in its visual language, warm and plain-spoken in its voice. That pairing is what will make Oxford Blue feel premium and approachable at once.
2. Build for more than weddings You were explicit that you don't want to be known for one service or event category. The identity system — naming conventions, colour, photography direction and language — will be designed to work across weddings, corporate, private and community events, and across your three service pillars (management, hire, venues), so future services slot in without diluting the brand.
3. Fix consistency at the source You told us your current branding isn't consistent across platforms — fonts and typography drift, and it's not as refined as you'd like. Now that you're live and visible, every inconsistent touchpoint is in front of real clients. The single most valuable deliverable here is a proper brand guidelines document plus ready-to-use templates, so everything — website, social, print, signage, packaging, merchandise — draws from the same well.
4. The name is a gift "Oxford Blue" gives us a natural anchor: a deep, dignified navy that pairs beautifully with the deep browns and warm neutrals you're drawn to. Few event brands have a colour built into their name — we should use it.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
Initial creative direction
Full concepts come later in the process, but based on your questionnaire and the brands you referenced (Morris Motley, Aesop, Steve Cordony, Valiant Events), here’s the territory we’d explore:
Mood
Rich, deep and tonal. Classy with a touch of moodiness — closer to a beautifully lit dinner than a bright showroom. Clean layouts, generous space, and a cohesive grid that brings the calm, structured feel you admired in Valiant and Aesop.
Colour
Primary: deep Oxford navy — the hero, drawn from your name
Secondary: deep brown and warm neutrals (stone, cream, soft taupe)
Avoiding: pink, red and orange, per your brief
Typography
A refined serif for headlines (elegant, editorial) paired with a clean, quiet sans-serif for body copy and functional applications — locked into clear rules so the font drift you’re experiencing now never happens again.
Voice
Warm, assured and plain-spoken. Words we’ll build around: seamless, considered, effortless, accounted for. Words we’ll avoid: cheap, exclusive, luxury-for-the-few.
SCOPE OF WORK
